00-ITパスポート（IT Passport）

インターネットに接続されているサーバが、1台でメール送受信機能とWebアクセス機能の両方を提供しているとき、端末のアプリケーションプログラムがそのどちらの機能を利用するかをサーバに指定するために用いるものはどれか。

ア　IPアドレス
IPアドレスは、サーバの場所を示す番号です。どのサーバかは分かりますが、サーバの中のどのサービスを使うかまでは指定できません。

イ　ドメイン名
ドメイン名は、IPアドレスの代わりに使う名前です。これもサーバの場所を示すだけで、サービスの種類は指定できません。

ウ　ポート番号
同じサーバでも、メールとWebでは別のサービスです。サーバは、ポート番号によって「どのサービスを使いたいのか」を区別します。例えば、Webサイトを見るときはポート番号80（HTTP）や443（HTTPS）を使います。一方、メールではSMTP（25番）、POP3（110番）、IMAP（143番）などの別のポート番号を使います。このように、ポート番号によって、Webなのかメールなのかをサーバが判断します。
Even on the same server, email and web are different services. The server uses port numbers to distinguish which service the client wants to use. For example, when accessing a website, port number 80 (HTTP) or 443 (HTTPS) is used. On the other hand, email uses different port numbers such as SMTP (25), POP3 (110), and IMAP (143). In this way, the server determines whether the request is for web or email based on the port number.

エ　ホスト名
ホスト名も、ネットワーク上のコンピュータの名前を示すものです。サービスの種類を指定するものではありません。
